Resort and condo were a perfect fit for our family. Plenty of space and both of our kids had their own room. Resort pool was amazing and condo was very nicely furnished !

Excellent stay as always. This was our 3rd time here in last 2 years and have booked a 4th stay for this forthcoming September. We have found this place to be excellent. It meets all of our needs: Clean, Affordable, located within walking distance to the beach, local restaurants, and shopping. Just past the Brooks Bridge, we have a perfect view of the Bay and love the Lazy River. We have no desire to stay anywhere else.

Clean condo with very nice furniture. Convenient location to the bay side pool. Great view of the bay and pool from the balcony. This condo also has a view of the Gulf from two of the bedrooms. Loved our stay in Sandpiper 506.

Spent five weeks in February and March. Weather was great. Accommodations were good. Only complaint is the master bedroom mattress needs to be replaced. Lumpy and generally warn out. Appliances need to be upgraded.

We love Sandpiper 506, a home away from home. The bedrooms and living room have recently been updated and look great! It’s relaxing and everything is right there! Great for parents and two active boys, 8 & 12.
It does seem like it’s time to update the kitchen.

We stayed for several nights on the bay at Destin West Beach and Bay Resort. Then we moved to the beach side and enjoyed a different view. You are guaranteed a great time no matter which side you choose. You only have to choose Destin West Beach and Bay Resort.

Beautiful resort and comfortable place. The only complaint was that the floors seemed a little dirty based on our feet. Also master bath shower light was out.

It is a little trek over the bridge passed the other half of condos to the beach or the gym. The patio door didn’t lock tight we could still pull it open after being locked and the front door had a huge gap in the door. The bedroom by the road had a lot of road noise throughout the night so I’m glad I brought a fan to drown the noise out. The pans suck to cook in. Everything stuck to them. And with only 2 rolls of toilet paper in each bathroom we had to buy more at Publix. The gym needs updating as well. If it’s the salt destroying the equipment maybe move the gym across the street to this side.

We came down for a volleyball tournament and just took a chance with this place and it definitely did not disappoint! It was clean and the location was PERFECT. We definitely will be staying again in the spring!

I was a litte concerned about staying during one of the busiest weeks of summer, July 4th weekend through, especially after a pandemic. But I was pleaseantly surprised that the Destin West never seemed overcrowded. It was busy but very family friendly and great. Our unit was fantastic, nice and clean. A quick tip but if you need more linens, don't hesitate to ask the Destin West front office. They will accommodate reasonable requests.

We love to go to Destin West! We had to leave early last September due to the hurricane and this year stayed the entire time. We love to be able to walk to the beach but then have the lazy river to relax in. It’s beautiful!

Sandpiper 506 is exactly as pictured and more! It provides amazing views which are of the Bay (North) from the living room, kitchen/dining, and master bedroom, and Gulf (South) from the guest room and bunk room (and yes, it’s a room... it has a door, tv, and storage under the bunk and in the stand that has a small fan... everything the kids needed). If you want to see a sunrise or sunset, plan to walk around the resort, dock, or beach.

Both bathrooms were spacious and had great water pressure in the showers. The master bathroom had a huge walk in closet which allowed us to store all our suitcases after unpacking. We were able to unpack everything as this unit had enough storage because of the amount of dressers, cabinets, and closets (hangers were provided).

All of the beds were clean and very comfortable including the pillows, linens, and comforters, and extra soft blankets.

The kitchen had everything you need to cook lunches or dinners. (Silverware, cups, glasses, bowls, plates, Tupperware, and kid cups and utensils, pans, pots, toaster, crock pot, etc.).

The unit had board games and cards, a beach umbrella, cooler on wheels, and 2 boogie boards (they both had cracks in the styrofoam but were usable... and May have been replaced since our stay).

The balcony had comfortable furniture and center table. The view overlooked the pool, hot tub, and lazy river.

I suggest sometime upon arrival someone in your family or your whole family needs to familiarize yourself with the routes to get places especially the elevators and floors needed, buildings to go to and through and overpass route toward the beach.

The partnership with The Island was an added bonus! We were able to use their beach, bar, pools, and even joined in to do their kid crafts. I recommend going to The Island’s website and checking their calendar to see all they offer daily.
