Resort is great. Easy access to beach or bay side. Our kids love the lazy river. Our suite needed upkeep- bad! It was dirty, the pots and pans were not usable and all scratched. The curtain was about to fall off the ceiling. The dishwasher did not work. There was mold on the porch and by the sliding door. The floors were very dirty. There was no hairdryer. I’ve stayed in other rooms at this resort and they were fine. This was the worst room I’ve stayed in at Destin west. We will go back but definitely will get a nicer room.

Great location, with terrific views! Especially appreciated the rooftop sun deck with lounge chair. Check-in and check- out were fast and efficient. Will stay again next year!

Amazing vacation, OK rental experience. The resort was perfect between the lazy river/hot tubs, location right on the bay, proximity to the beach and the bridge to access it, great! There were issues with the unit during out stay. Mgmt responded professionally but not much was done, hopefully they will take a better look at this unit for updates as several are needed. Dish washer was broken, reported but not fixed, same as keypad access (we were given a key). Toaster broke, they brought us a new one. Cleanliness 0 Floors were filthy like they have NEVER been mopped) and carpet needs to be replaced by bunk beds, it was visibly worn and quite old. Frying pans should be replaced too as the teflon has been scrapped off and shouldn’t be cooked with. Window to porch overseeing pool also appeared to have not been cleaned in quite some time. Again, we cannot wait to come back and stay @ resort, BUT we would pick a different unit.

We have stayed here 4 times in the last 5 years and always have a great time.Excellent service and staff plus bay on one side beach on other can’t beat it.5 pools 3 hot tubs,place to eat next door and boat,jet ski rentals plus gas station on the other side.I have stayed at a lot of places on different vacations and this is hard to beat.thanks

Overall wonderful vacation experience. There were a few things that could have been better but we did not even complain to management about it.
Sheets in master were beady and should be replaced.
Base of toilet was not clean and was “yellow”.
Dust on wall hangings indicates that a more thorough cleaning is needed from time to time.
Sand fleas on roof & balconies- not a lot, but we did get some bites.

The condo had a great view of the bay and pool area from the lower back balcony. You could see the ocean from the upper deck and also from the front balcony. The condo had a few issues however. First, one of the chairs on the front balcony was broken. We alerted the front desk, however it was never replaced during our stay. On our first full day, the front door lock broke and we could not lock our door. The back patio door would not lock as well and there was no lock on the front patio door. We contacted the front desk to have the locks on the front and patio door looked at ASAP. They did not know when maintenance would get to it so we took all of our valuables with us and headed to the beach. I also mentioned to them that the back patio door was very hard to slide open. When we got back from the beach, the front door and patio door locks were fixed but the patio door was still very hard to slide open and would not even close all the way. Oh well we just dealt with it. There was also no small table on the roof top deck or front balcony. It would have been nice to have a table to set your drinks or coffee on. Also it would have been nice to have a couple of Adirondack chairs on the roof top deck along with the loungers as I observed on many of the other roof top decks. Later in the week we had some ants on the kitchen countertop and floor. Not sure where those came from but we dealt with them the best we could. The floors were a bit dirty and could have used a good scrubbing. The walls and baseboards were marred and dirt as well and could have used some cleaning and paint. The clock on the wall had also stopped working and there were no batteries to replace in it. The pool area could have used some cleaning as well. The pool deck and chairs could have used some power washing as they were a bit dirty. The pools and lazy river themselves were clean but a bit chilly. It would have been nice if they were heated a bit. Still had a nice stay, but room for improvement.

We arrived around 3:55pm and our condo wasn’t ready until about 4:30pm and that was a first for us. I had groceries/ice cream in the car so that was a little worrisome but I was informed beforehand that the condo could take until 6pm to be ready. Just keep that in mind for grocery purposes. The condo itself was very clean and the decor was beautiful. It has an incredible view of the pool and bay which we absolutely loved. The patio door in the master bedroom was incredibly hard/loud to open and close so I unfortunately decided not to use that because it would wake up my kids when I tried to sit outside and drink my coffee. The kitchen had all of the utensils we needed. First world problems here, but it would be nice to have a larger tv in the living room and a few more towels in the bathrooms. Also, the master bedroom gets very bright very early in the morning so I had to put a tshirt over my face to sleep. Bring a loud fan to drown out the traffic driving by. Zero issues with my fan running. The unit would only cool down to about 74 when is a little warm for this Texas family. I kept all of the doors and curtains closed all day and that’s as cool as we could get it. I love that there is always an employee at the pool checking bands for entrance and they were all very personable and kind. The rental chairs at the beach have pretty much squeezed in so tight that there is a VERY small area for Destin West renters that bring their own chairs. It would be nice to have more space but definitely not a dealbreaker. Overall, we really loved this unit and we had a wonderful time!
