Osprey #503

The furniture outdoors were rusted out and missing parts and one chair didn’t even have a seat. Several wall outlets didn’t work. Dish washer didn’t work right and food disposal didn’t work and would back up in the sink. Light fixtures didn’t work. The beds were comfortable which was a plus. Carpet was nasty and stained. The master bathrooms had only two towels ,no wash rags and no placemat for getting out of the shower. I love staying at Destin West but the last two times have not been as nice. The rooms we had needs lots of maintenance and upkeep.

o503 is a large condo and certainly spacious for our 4 adults and two children. The furniture was worn, deck furniture was broken, some unusable, the carpet was filthy, and kitchen utensils were sparse. If I had viewed the condo prior to arriving, I would probably not pay the price. One of the elevators was broken which caused some pretty long delays. This was our second time at Destin West. The condo we had before was very nice. 503 was no comparison to our first stay.

My family And I had an AWESOME time. the staff was friendly and professional the Condo was fantastic. We had a beautiful view from our balcony Quick access to the beach. It was home away from home. I will definitely be going back and telling others about my experience great places to eat and shop We had a wonderful time

Last year we stayed in O603 which is the same layout just on a different floor and it was almost perfect except for the bunk beds in the front room were a little unstable, so this year we tried a different unit due to the bunk beds looking to be more stable. Only problem was this unit initially had AC issues which were resolved by maintenance the(the 1st day thank you) also we had fridge issues. Only thing that worked on the fridge was the freezer and long story short we had to buy ice all week long and all of our food went bad because the fridge was never fixed. We stayed for a week so we needed it for our groceries but this one just didn't work. Now there was a small mini fridge in the unit as well but that basically was taken up by our milk jug so it didn't provide much help. We let the front office know immediately and told the maintenance tech every time he came that it wasn't working but nothing was done about it. He would ask if it was getting cool yet and we would tell him not yet. Kind of bummed because this unit was more expensive then last years and we lost a lot of food also. When I told the front counter about it during checkout they showed concern and were very nice and said they would look into it but offered no reimbursement or compensation for our loss of food or lack of having a refrigerator. This unit was more expensive that week compared to some other times during the year but we expected that because of what was going on that weekend, BUT we definitely expect all major appliances to be functioning properly. We spoke to two other renters who said they had fridge problems also. Some of the balcony furniture was rusting pretty bad too but we just didn't sit in the bad chairs. Other then that this place was awesome and we loved staying there. We will try to come back next year(hopefully with a working fridge) because overall this is an amazing place to stay with great views and amenities and we appreciate the opportunity to do so.

Condo is beautiful and very well equipped. We stayed Thanksgiving week and were amazed as we cooked a huge meal and needed nothing. It does need blinds to be fixed in master as there is no privacy to the deck

This was our 13th time staying at Destin West over the last 17 years, and our 2nd time in the Osprey #503 unit. Excellent location and amenities, especially if you have kids.

Playing a charity event next door at Rick's on the Island, makes Destin West the best place to stay. Everything was perfect and being able to walk next door with just a guitar is heaven! We had time to use the lazy river and LOVED IT!

The location is in between the Gulf of Mexico and Choctawhatchee Bay. Both are beautiful and the grounds are lit up at night and you can walk to both the Gulf and the Bay. Plus the hot tubs and all of the friendly retired people makes this vacation the best. The off season rates for 30+ days make it affordable. Beats the heck out of a Michigan winter. The office on property is friendly and they take care of maintenance or any other problem immediately. I am booked for my 3rd year here.

We hope to book again very soon! We loved the property and the convenience to Rick's on the Island where Rock by the Sea's charity music event was being held. We loved it and hope to be back next year.

The house was great, had everything we needed for cooking and the beach. The only thing is the dryer wouldn’t dry our clothes.
