We had a great time at Destin West Gulf #107. The first floor location provided easy pool time for the kids and patio time for morning coffee. This was a fantastic vacation for a family of four as part of a larger group of 12. The only sources of tension for us were our interactions with the management team. We didn't have any sort of incident, they were just generally brusque, cold, and there to hold the line on policies. We never felt like guests, we felt like something annoying they had to deal with. This was mainly evident at checkin and checkout. I will say the kitchen was not particularly well-appointed in this unit, and I purchased a cutting board, scissors, and a couple of other items which I left there when we checked out. I was happy to do so and didn't expect anything in return. I wish I hadn't let the desk clerk know, because I was told in no uncertain terms that I would not be getting any discounts or credit - I hadn't asked. We have vacationed at Destin West on fall break for 7 years - at this point, it's a tradition for our family. I'm torn, because it would take a lot for me to break the tradition, but I didn't like feeling like an annoyance after I had spent thousands of dollars to be there.

The time we spent at Destin vacations was very enjoyable. Since we have been there a few times over the last several years, I do believe that the condos do need some overall upgrading. Otherwise the condos are nice and we enjoy our trips to Destin

This was our forth year so we pretty much knew what to expect but wanted to give it one last try. The last two years I’ve been extremely upset with the lack of cleanliness and broken condo amenities. This year and the previous we had issues with just a lack of cleaning prior to our rental and dirty furniture in the condo. The floors were so dirty and the carpets were gross we felt uncomfortable not wearing shoes the whole stay. Our four year old knows no better and would lay or play on the floor and would be dirty like she had played in the parking garage not the condo. You get the feeling the cleaning staff are skipping items while prepping for the next guest makes you wonder what else gets skipped if they don’t even clean the floor. Someone in a management role should do inspections as this isn’t the first time but could be our last time experiencing it as we are looking for a new place to visit in the future. We rent these condos to have the kitchen and this year our microwave wasn’t working at all no power. I was pretty frustrated and chose not to bother calling in the microwave issue as last year our issue was poorly handled I wasn’t going through it again with staff. Over the years I’ve sent a dozen couples to stay here because we truly love the location and amenities but struggle with what we have been seeing and the feeling the units are going down hill fast. Sadly I won’t recommend this place any longer as the units we have rented over the last two stays have left us with a unhappy experience. I’m sure this isn’t the case for all units but the ones controlled by Destin West I can speak for. Only way I would consider staying in the future would be with a Airbnb or VRBO assuming they care more about the condition of their units.

We had a very nice stay at our condo that we rented. Our first family vacation to Destin West and it won’t be our last. Thank you for the great memories we created!

We enjoyed the stay very much. Our specific condo was very outdated compared to others. Our dryer was so loud I couldn’t really run it too often. The dishwasher was very outdated and broke in many different places. The back sliding door didn’t lock. Other than some outdated things we ultimately had a good time.

Overall the condo was great location, sizeable. We love Destin West. However, this is not the highest quality unit. Dresser drawers kept falling out, water would not drain properly in sinks, dishwasher was sketch and there was sand in the unit when we checked in. Also, was not ready until almost 6pm and yet checkout was at 10AM. I feel we lost over 8 hours of vacation time, even though charged a full day.
