Emerald Coast Volleyball Week
When: April 27 - May 1
Please note, social distancing precautions may be in place for the 2022 Volleyball Season due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
Each year the Emerald Coast Volleyball Week takes over Fort Walton, Florida. This week-long event is held at The Boardwalk at Okaloosa Island and features a Volleyball Tournament, volleyball-themed events at The Boardwalk, and fun around every corner!

The Emerald Coast Volleyball Week takes place every April at The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island. The four-day event brings together adults and kids to battle for prizes up to $1,000. Not a volleyball player? The tournament takes place all day and includes events like a costume contest and evening parties.
Destin & Okaloosa Island Fishing
When: March - May
March is the unofficial start to the new fishing year. Cobia, king mackerel, jack crevalle, pompano, and more can be caught, especially later in the month. As the weather warms through April and into May, cobia and king mackerel becoming increasingly popular catches. It’s no wonder Destin has received the moniker of “The World’s Luckiest Fishing Village.” There are plenty of ways to fish in the Destin and Okaloosa Island area, including bottom fishing, pier fishing, reef fishing, kite fishing, and more.
Crab Island
When: March - October
Crab Island is a favorite for tourists and locals alike. This unique spot attracts vacationers from around the world to enjoy time at the sandbar. Peak season for Crab Island begins in April, but many vendors come out for a splashing good time as early as March!
Downtown Fort Walton Farmers' Market
When: Year-Round
The Fort Walton Beach Landing Park in the downtown area is awash in colorful produce and artisan vendor tents every second and fourth Saturday of the month, year-found. The Downtown Fort Walton Beach Farmers' Market is open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and is particularly enjoyable in the warm spring months right around Spring Break.
Henderson Beach State Park
Henderson Beach State Park is more than 6,000 feet of protected Gulf of Mexico shoreline. The park is known for its sugar-white sand and is one of the last preserved stretches of coastal dune scrub. When some of the other area beaches can get crowded, Henderson Beach State Park is typically quiet and relaxing. The park features nature trails and areas for picnicking. Admission is $6 per vehicle or $2 for pedestrians and bicyclists.
