Description

Colorful ground floor condo is a nicely decorated one-bedroom, two-bathroom unit. Direct access to Lagoon Swimming Pool and beach off private poolside patio.

The master bedroom has a king-size bed and a private bath. The bunk room has twin bunks and is located near the guest bathroom. The family room has a queen-size sofa sleeper for additional guests and a TV. The fully furnished kitchen has a side-by-side fridge/freezer with built-in water and icemaker, dishwasher, smooth-top range stove, and an over-the-range microwave. There is also a stackable size washer and dryer in the unit for your convenience.

Condo guests enjoy beach and bay access, resort pools, hot tubs and lazy river and includes free Wifi.

We always enjoy our stay at Destin West, and this trip was no different. However, the condo needs some TLC. There was nothing to wash dishes with except one small dish rag. No dish towels, scrub brush, dish soap, etc. Also, check in time being between 4-6pm is stretching it just a bit. Otherwise, we love the place and will continue to stay here when in the area. Thank you!

I do love this unit! We have stayed here two years now. Our family fits perfectly! Dishwasher could use some new parts or maybe just replaced. Other than that I have no complaints. We will be back!

We have stayed at Destin West since 2017. We love the location and the family atmosphere. This year however, the condo was not clean, the amenities were bare minimum, and worst of all there were several large roaches in our unit. When we called the property management company they told us to call the HOA. The issue was never addressed during our stay.

With a little love and consideration the overall experience and level of service could certainly be improved.

We had a great time at Destin West Gulf #107. The first floor location provided easy pool time for the kids and patio time for morning coffee. This was a fantastic vacation for a family of four as part of a larger group of 12. The only sources of tension for us were our interactions with the management team. We didn't have any sort of incident, they were just generally brusque, cold, and there to hold the line on policies. We never felt like guests, we felt like something annoying they had to deal with. This was mainly evident at checkin and checkout. I will say the kitchen was not particularly well-appointed in this unit, and I purchased a cutting board, scissors, and a couple of other items which I left there when we checked out. I was happy to do so and didn't expect anything in return. I wish I hadn't let the desk clerk know, because I was told in no uncertain terms that I would not be getting any discounts or credit - I hadn't asked. We have vacationed at Destin West on fall break for 7 years - at this point, it's a tradition for our family. I'm torn, because it would take a lot for me to break the tradition, but I didn't like feeling like an annoyance after I had spent thousands of dollars to be there.

This was our forth year so we pretty much knew what to expect but wanted to give it one last try. The last two years I’ve been extremely upset with the lack of cleanliness and broken condo amenities. This year and the previous we had issues with just a lack of cleaning prior to our rental and dirty furniture in the condo. The floors were so dirty and the carpets were gross we felt uncomfortable not wearing shoes the whole stay. Our four year old knows no better and would lay or play on the floor and would be dirty like she had played in the parking garage not the condo. You get the feeling the cleaning staff are skipping items while prepping for the next guest makes you wonder what else gets skipped if they don’t even clean the floor. Someone in a management role should do inspections as this isn’t the first time but could be our last time experiencing it as we are looking for a new place to visit in the future. We rent these condos to have the kitchen and this year our microwave wasn’t working at all no power. I was pretty frustrated and chose not to bother calling in the microwave issue as last year our issue was poorly handled I wasn’t going through it again with staff. Over the years I’ve sent a dozen couples to stay here because we truly love the location and amenities but struggle with what we have been seeing and the feeling the units are going down hill fast. Sadly I won’t recommend this place any longer as the units we have rented over the last two stays have left us with a unhappy experience. I’m sure this isn’t the case for all units but the ones controlled by Destin West I can speak for. Only way I would consider staying in the future would be with a Airbnb or VRBO assuming they care more about the condition of their units.

We recently spent the week here. Couldn't have ask for a better location and the pools were nice. The overall condition of the unit we were in was lacking in cleanliness and upkeep considering what we paid. The floor was loose and missing pieces, the kitchen chairs and bar stools were in very poor condition, the carpet in the bedroom was sticky from needing to be cleaned and the bathtub had footprints in it. Considering the event we were there for the room served it's purpose but if you plan on spending much time in your room I'd consider something else.

Complex wonderful but unit not well equipped in kitchen.

We enjoyed the stay very much. Our specific condo was very outdated compared to others. Our dryer was so loud I couldn’t really run it too often. The dishwasher was very outdated and broke in many different places. The back sliding door didn’t lock. Other than some outdated things we ultimately had a good time.

A reoccurring guest at Destin west for 15 plus years now. We have never once had a bad experience or poor condo quality.... This was a first!
My 6 year old got glass in her foot out of the carpet as soon as we walked in the door. Clearly carpets had not been vacuumed. Black mold in both showers, had to rewash every dish and piece of silverware before use due to dried food. Sliding door was extremely hard open and close. Neighbors could hear the dryer squeaking while running. This could be such a good rental but lacked some major maintaining and updating. Does not compare to other Destin west units.
